Downtown Streetscape Redesign Takes Shape

On March 5, 2018, the Salina Journal reported on a Salina City Commission vote to award contracts for the waterline replacement and streetscape design for Sante Fe Avenue. The Downtown Streetscape project, which is a part of Salina’s revitalization efforts, includes a redesign of sidewalks, including new art deco pavers and an overall widening to increase outdoor dining space and patio seating for restaurants.

This component of the redevelopment project will be funded using sales tax revenue bonds, which will be repaid through the increase in sales tax revenue within the downtown Salina district.
