TheSalina Journalreported on the upcoming completion of the $12 million downtown project on Santa Fe Avenue.
The revitalization project has been under way for more than a year, revamping the street as well as sidewalks, landscapes, and other improvements. The completion coincides with the upcoming opening of the Homewood Suites hotel.
The city will begin work on the far south end once work on the hotel is finished. The development is designed to attract new businesses and more patrons to downtown Salina. Improvements of this magnitude haven’t been made to the downtown area since 1975.
